Do we need to memorize any words?
You can choose to memorize words but it is not necessary as your Wedding Officiant will lead you through the ceremony.
When it is your turn to speak, your Wedding Officiant will say a few words at a time which you then repeat.
You may also choose to read personal written vows from notecards.
Where can we apply for our marriage license?
Marriage licenses are legal documents--just like a passport or driver's license--at some locations the two of you will need to appear in person when you apply for your marriage license, at other locations either of you only need appear in person.
Click on the above link to be redirected to the US Marriage Laws website. You'll find the marriage laws that apply to your state and a listing of county offices where you can apply for your marriage license.
We strongly advise checking with your local Recorder Of Deeds Office, County Clerk or County Courthouse for current information.
We do not officiate wedding ceremonies without a valid marriage license. Marriage license must be on site and presented to the Officiant before the start of the wedding ceremony or license signing - no exceptions.
Do we have to exchange rings?
It is not essential to exchange rings although many couples choose to do this as a traditional part of their ceremony.
You may decide to exchange two rings, only one, or none.
When are payments due?
Minimum $50 Reservation Deposit is required at the time you book online
or by phone. Reservation Deposits are deducted from the total fee and remaining Balance Due may be paid via cash, credit or debit card.
Will we need witnesses?
Two (2) witnesses are required in Missouri & Kansas. Witnesses can be anyone, including friends or relatives, 18 years or older, and able to understand the ceremony and/or license signing they will be witnessing.
They will be asked to sign your Marriage License.
We can provide witnesses, if needed, $15 each.
If you apply for your Marriage License in the following Missouri counties, 1-2 witnesses are recommended but are not mandatory: Jackson County, Eastern Jackson County & Johnson County, Missouri.
Besides the ceremony, are there any other fees?
There is an additional fee for travel to locations 31 or more miles beyond the Greater Kansas City Metro Area.
If an admission fee, toll fee, or parking fee is required to enter couple's venue or location, it is the responsibility of the couple to reimburse their Officiant for such fees.
